TN Visa Program

Special Non-Immigrant Worker Program

TN status or TN visa (Trade NAFTA) is a special non-immigrant classification in the Unites States that offers expedited work authorization to a citizen of Canada or a national of Mexico, created as a result of provisions of the North American Free Trade Agreement (now USMCA) that mandate simplified entry and employment permission for certain professionals from each of the three member states in the other member states.

A Canadian citizen or Mexican national with a job offer in certain defining professions and who meets the minimal education requirements for each defined profession can work in the United States, for up to four years. The permit potentially may be renewed indefinitely.

The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) created special economic and trade relationships for the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The TN nonimmigrant classification permits qualified Canadian and Mexican citizens to seek temporary entry into the United States to engage in business activities at a professional level.

  • The team at LSI have been an integral part of our staffing success at Overbrook Golf Club. From recruitment through onboarding, they have helped us to navigate each step of the TN Visa program. The employees that we hired through their services are friendly, hard-working, and reliable. I would certainly recommend LSI to others looking to fill positions in a difficult labor market.

  • LSI is a pivotal piece of our company and without them we would be very lost navigating the visa programs alone. LSI has been our go to from day one. The knowledge and skill set of the team is extremely helpful navigating the process. Every year it’s a miracle when the team arrives for the season and that’s not possible without the hard work of LSI for the months leading up. The entire team is always available to help and respond when questions arise. LSI makes us feel valued by the excellence in the package that submitted to the government. Without that extreme detail approach there would be much more uncertainty. Thank you for all you do in helping us bring our summer family back to work each year! Without your hard work this would not be possible.
